John Lennon and Paul McCartney used to masturbate together.

Paul McCartney granted this interview to GQ in which he described, in the simplest language possible, how he masturbated with friends and bandmates in his youth. There is something so refreshing and validating in having an international mega-star (What is the correct word for the living Beatles at this moment?) talking about buddybating* in a major mainstream publication, with such frankness and far from shame and pettiness. The way this happened is graphic and funny:

"What happened was at John's house, and there were just a group of us," he told GQ. "And instead of just getting drunk and having fun, I don't even know if we would stay overnight or something, we were all in these chairs, and the lights were off, and someone started masturbating, so we all did it."

McCartney then went into more detail and said that the five boys encouraged each other to shout out various celebrity names during the group masturbation session.

"We just said, 'Brigitte Bardot!' 'Wow!' and then everyone would get a bit more excited," McCartney said. "I think it was John who said, 'Winston Churchill!'" he added.

It's almost comical to imagine being able to stroke just the idea of a sexy person like Brigitte Bardot. One imagines that part of the action was simply keeping a mattress of heterosexuality in the air, and that the real inspiration was being in a room full of guys jerking off with cum included.

"It wasn't a big deal," he continued. "But, you know, it was the kind of thing you didn't think much about. It was just a group. Yeah, it's pretty obscene when you think about it. I am at a loss for words to describe how incredibly cool it is for him not only to acknowledge this, but to laugh about it as "Yes, that's what people do!" And it's interesting to note that he doesn't use alcohol as a reason or explanation. It just happened and everyone came when he did. How amazing is that?
